Well went and had her remapped. Must say it has made a massive difference to the feel of the bike.
That much that it ripped the side panel of......... just coincidence i think.

Before BHP 82.5 TORQUE 65.54
After BHP 89.94 TORQUE 82.16

A massive gain of torque... oh yeah

Brake failure light came on when starting bike on friday, stay illuminated all the time.

Done the usual checks made sure front lever not fouling handguard bulb in tail light ok.

no noise from ABS motor at all, reading up this looks like a the dreaded ABS unit failure ( not a happy bunny when i read BMW dealer repair cost). Aprt from getting diagnostic read out are there any other possible casuses ?

Found site called ecu testing who charge £195 to repair, has anyone tried this route before ?

Riding back after my remap from Leicester. Got 10 miles from home.

The cover came unclipped from the front and swung against my leg, a bit scarey @ 80. Plus it bent back my tank plate. :mad:

I shall be cable tying the front from now on............

The plan was to meet Tim on route as I headed north, best get a flying start (Duxford Air Museum).



Running behind schedule, more speed needed (RAF Wittering).



First stop, Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Tides were timed perfectly for us to cross the causeway.




We caught the ferry from Scrabster (North Scotland) to Stromness (Orkney), staying there for 3 days. More neolithic ruins, tombs, standing stones than you can shake a stick at, plus a decent brewery (well worth a visit) and some spectacular cliffs and coastline to explore.

I am fitting a de catted down pipe and Remus silencer.
Is it just a case of fitting? Or do I need to reset fueling (which I think I read somewhere)

There is a brilliant beer festival at North Newton, between Taunton and Bridgwater that a few of us are going to on the weekend of 12 to 14 July. Your Motorcycle Club, the GS Club of the United Kingdom, is invited to send 3 delegates to the BMF's annual National and One Make Club's forum which is being held on Saturday 29th June 2013 at the Hoskyn Centre, 12 Bilton Road, Rugby, Warwickshire CV22 7AB . The meeting will start at 11am with tea and coffee being available from 10.30. The meeting will finish by 4pm so please bring something for your lunch.

There will be presentations from the BMF's Chairman, Roger Ellis, Anna Zee who is our Political and Technical Services Director and Chris Hodder who is our Government Relations Executive.

We will told what is currently going on in the motorcycling world in both the United Kingdom and Europe in what promises to be a very informative meeting and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to raise issues or concerns that you or your club may have.

The meeting will also be electing up to 12 Councillors to serve on the BMF Council for the year commencing November 2013.

I attach a delegate nomination form which you should complete and return to Rachel at the BMF office, e-mail is fine, and also a nomination form should anyone from you club wish to be elected as a BMF councillor or for one of the Management Team positions. I have also attached a copy of the minutes from last year's meeting these are for approval at the meeting and the agenda for the meeting will be similar in format to last year's forum.

I look forward to seeing your representatives at the meeting but if your club is unable to be represented if you could send me apologies that would be much appreciated and they will be recorded in the minutes.

I have acquired a 2010 single-cam R1200RT (even though I'm not old enough to be riding such a beast) with 78,000 miles on it. It needs a new clutch - a fact that is reflected in the purchase price. Given the mechanical similarity between the R1200RT and R1200GS, I thought I'd seek some collective wisdom.

Question - while the bike is on the bench for a new clutch, is there anything else that I should have done? I assume the seals will be changed. Is it worth replacing the pivot bearing and paralever bearing?
